What affects diamond color?
Diamond color is determined by the presence of nitrogen during formation. The more nitrogen, the more yellow the diamond appears. The GIA color scale ranges from D (colorless) to Z (light yellow or brown).
How to choose the right color
Consider the setting metal: yellow gold can make near-colorless diamonds appear whiter, while platinum or white gold settings work best with higher color grades. For maximum brilliance and value, G-H colors offer an excellent balance.
